I went from Owning Guns to
my New Hobby: Bonsai Trees

After my time in the USAF, I discovered a new passion that sparked joy in my life: bonsai trees. Living in a cozy apartment with a charming patio, I envisioned beautifying my surroundings while nurturing these tiny masterpieces. The tranquility that came with caring for bonsai trees was a balm for my spirit. Then, in 2009, I embraced new challenges by purchasing firearms and relocating to the sun-kissed Morgan Hill, CA. However, I quickly realized that the intense heat posed a daunting obstacle. My beloved bonsais dried out, and I was overwhelmed, feeling like the dream of cultivating these exquisite trees was slipping away. But here’s the wonderful twist: I refused to give up! I reignited my passion for bonsai in this vibrant climate. With determination and newfound knowledge, I am learning to thrive in Morgan Hill’s warmth. The same soothing joy I found when I first began this journey has returned, filling my heart with excitement! I’ve embraced the challenge, knowing that bonsai is not just a hobby, but a beautiful craft that I am committed to mastering. I look forward with enthusiasm to training even more trees, shaping them into the stunning bonsai I envision. This is a testament to the power of perseverance and the joy of creating something meaningful from our passions. Let’s nurture our dreams and bring them to life, one bonsai at a time!

Before my little munchkins came into the picture, I was a tad skeptical and thought Disneyland was just a fancy playhouse for overgrown kids—spoiler alert, I was wrong! Who knew that once those tiny tornadoes of joy showed up, my heart would do a literal backflip from all the magic? Now, our family escapades are brimming with giggles, snacks, and perhaps a few silly selfies with lovable characters. Every trip is like a delightful rollercoaster ride of joyful mayhem, and I wouldn’t trade our annual tradition for all the churros in the park! 🎢✨

Bryan Velasquez Thrives in the Great Outdoors!

As a kid, my parents didn’t take me out much beyond visiting family, which was always nice but left me craving more outdoor adventures. So, when I moved out after high school, it felt like a whole new world opened up for me! I finally got to explore all those outdoor activities I'd been dreaming about. Now, I absolutely love hiking, ocean fishing, sailing, and boating, and spending quality weekends with my family. There’s just something so special about being outdoors together and making memories!
